From Trees to Books - Storying the Leaves
A guided walk around central Crediton meeting a variety of tree-beings and hearing related stories from literature with writer Pete Yeo
Join plant writer Pete Yeo for a guided walk around central Crediton meeting a variety of tree-beings, some local to our area, some introduced. With each you will hear pertinent and inspiring quotes or poems that bring them more fully to life, these also providing portals to generic tree topics such as plant evolution, intelligence and their human relationships. In this way, each arboreal contributor will be matched with a literary partner, with these book recommendations pulled together into a printed list for participants to take home and explore at their leisure.
This event is planned alongside the Crediton Food Festival and will end in Newcombes Meadow were the Festival is centred. This event is also part of "If Trees Could Talk Devon" part of an International Biennale.
